Binnie has an opportunity for a Division Manager to lead our Traffic Services Division. We provide a wide range of traffic engineering services for local and provincial governments, as well as for select private sector clients. Some recent assignments include traffic engineering support on the Owner’s Engineer Team for the Patullo Bridge Replacement Project, traffic management support on the Broadway Subway Line and traffic modelling support for Translink’s new R6 line.


Reporting to our VP of Transportation Engineering and Major Projects, you will continue to build, expand and lead the operations of our Traffic Division, ensuring effective performance and growth. You will lead, manage, and develop our team of approximately 11 staff in Burnaby.

Your focus will be on securing and delivering projects while collaborating with other Divisions and Groups to support overall company growth and performance. You will use your strong ability to assess local market conditions and identify prospective clients, as well as foster relationships with new and existing clients to win new business.


  • Managing, leading, and organizing the Division in Burnaby
  • Leading business development and expanding client base
  • Creating and maintaining senior-level relationships with select clients
  • Managing direct reports, building effective working relationships, and providing support for career development
  • Monitoring and ensuring financial and operating targets are met
  • Ensuring quality management practices are followed
  • Developing and implementing annual plans for the Division
  • Providing senior level overview of the delivery of projects
  • Developing and driving strategic planning for the Division
  • Delivering select projects in a senior project manager capacity
  • Managing employee recruitment, performance, retention and termination activities.



  • 7+ years of related civil engineering consulting experience (including 5+ years of experience in a Senior Manager/Senior Project Manager role)
  • 5+ years of experience managing a team and ability to organize and delegate work effectively, and provide guidance and direction
  • Registration as a P.Eng. with EGBC, or AScT with ASTTBC
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and personal vehicle
  • Solid understanding of business and financials to drive division profitability
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to handle multiple complex projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
